Abstract:
The main goal of the article is to overview the main phases of American private sector’s development as a key player in eradicating poverty, and historical reasons for the development of philanthropy culture among the population and obstacles encountered. In addition, the article focuses on the steps taken by American philanthropists in poverty alleviation. The authors conclude that this American tradition is efficient and it is possible to apply this experience in other countries.
